New Leaf Hair Studio on Facebook

The “Off-Season”

Many girlfriends, wives, sisters and mothers across America might agree on one thing--the stupidity of Fantasy Football. Why does it need to take so much time? My husband's answer is that you need to scout, draft, follow stats, blah, blah and blah.

I don't mean to stereotype the female gender in assuming that women do not participate in this league (even though it's a pretty good assumption considering we typically possess much better time management skills). That being said, the girls at New Leaf are approaching our own 'off-season' of weddings. We have a few more parties left but now is the time for some hardcore wedding hair training.

Anyways, we are always 'scouting' out upcoming trends. My prediction for 2010?
I am 'betting' on sleeker, more polished updos and sparkly headbands and Audrey Hepburn hair.

Christine’s Going to Disney!
Christine Furtado was pretty happy that it was 60 degrees and cloudy on her wedding day. Why, you ask? Because the meteorologists were predicting a total washout, complete with driving rain and high winds.

Wouldn't you love to be a weather person? You can be wrong every day and still have a job.
I bet Christine was happy that weather people are bad at their jobs.
Her ceremony was here in Bristol and her reception was at the Five Bridge Inn, a beautiful place in Rehoboth, Massachusetts. Christine is our first bride to get married there so it was fun to hear all about it.

Here are a few pictures of the grounds...

Barrington Beauty

Sarah Gordon, a Barrington native, decided to come back to her roots for her wedding. Sarah is now a Bostonian (not to be confused with BRISTOLian, a Bristol native, born and raised).
Her wedding was at the Rhode Island Country Club. This location is not your typical country club on a golf course--it overlooks the water, showing off some seriously beautiful sunsets. I'm told if you grew up in the East Bay area, you always crave the ocean so it's only fitting that Sarah came back for her big day.

1920’s Glamazon

When Sarah Disano first came to New Leaf for her trial, she wanted to look unique on her wedding day. We love when brides say that because that means we really get to challenge our skills.

Sarah wanted to go for a 1920's style. She showed Pam these images
(which look a lot like Scarlett Johansson, but we couldn't be sure)...
Can you get any more glamorous???

New Leaf’s Wedding Weather Protection Program

Julie Ciarlone couldn't have dreamed of a better day in August to get married at Blithewold Mansion!  The sunny, 83 degree temperature was well-deserved after our "summer that wasn't". I shouldn't whine. We really have had some stellar weekends--it's part of our New Leaf Wedding Weather Protection Program. Know a future bride who is already obsessing about the weather? Enlist in our program today:-)

The Luck o’ the Irish

Kate Murphy must have a touch of the shamrock in her genes because she woke to blue skies and sun the morning of her wedding! Lucky girl because  she travelled from Burlington, Vermont to get married here in little Rhody. Kate had 5 bridesmaids who were all so much fun! They all took advantage of the wedding party packages and came in on Friday for manis and pedis--very smart:-) Sometimes, if you have a big wedding party, trying to do all your services in one day leaves you feeling less than relaxed.

Eileen Christens the Lounge

It was another New Leaf kind of day...sunny with a nice breeze. It was a perfect day for Eileen MacLean's wedding and a perfect bride to 'christen' the Bridal Lounge. What a fun group of girls! We really are so lucky, I swear we meet the nicest brides.

Eileen waits for Leah to get started and the Lounge comes alive!

One beach-y bride

What a day for Lauren--sun shining, large, billowy clouds, slight breeze. It was a wedding day made for our beach-y bride.

Lauren was getting married at Mount Hope Farm in Bristol. It's  a perfect place for a bride who walked in and proclaimed as she sat in my chair, "I just got back from surfing and I feel great!"
Lauren looks like you might find her coming out of a surf shop in San Diego, getting ready to go catch some waves. She has this amazing long, sun-kissed blonde hair so I was pretty excited.
Lauren found our salon on another blog...our friends at Snap! Photography. Mariah and Trish had met us for a "Snap & Chat" series in February, where we transformed Trish into a 1920's glamazon.
