One beach-y bride

What a day for Lauren--sun shining, large, billowy clouds, slight breeze. It was a wedding day made for our beach-y bride.

Lauren was getting married at Mount Hope Farm in Bristol. It's  a perfect place for a bride who walked in and proclaimed as she sat in my chair, "I just got back from surfing and I feel great!"
Lauren looks like you might find her coming out of a surf shop in San Diego, getting ready to go catch some waves. She has this amazing long, sun-kissed blonde hair so I was pretty excited.
Lauren found our salon on another blog...our friends at Snap! Photography. Mariah and Trish had met us for a "Snap & Chat" series in February, where we transformed Trish into a 1920's glamazon.

Blithewold’s Beautiful Bride

After a week of solid rain, the skies cleared for our bride, Caroline. Our sun streak makes us 8 for 8...I guess we have to take weeklong bouts of miserable rain so our brides have beautiful days...no problem!

Caroline and her fiance, Rob, were having their wedding at Blithewold Mansion

Belle Fiance!

The sun streak continues and what a day for a wedding! Pam Smith, a loyal New Leaf client, asked me last year if I could do her daughter's hair for her wedding. You see, Pam was doing a ton of planning for her daughter's wedding because Kerry was living in France, where her fiance is from. I know, how glamorous!? I think I love my job because I can live vicariously through clients...

Anyways, Kerry and her fiance officially moved back to the States just two weeks before the wedding. Talk about extra stress before the big day...whew!
All of Kerry and Pam's planning certainly paid off and everything came together for the wedding at Glen Manor House in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. Glen Manor is a waterfront mansion that is spectacular for any type of event. Imagine having a cocktail under the covered patio...

Alison Berenback’s Garden Affair

So I don't want to jinx this lucky little streak we have going on, but the New Leaf girls should run, not walk, to go buy some Powerball tickets. Five for five. Sun shining. Breeze blowing. Seventy degrees.  Maybe we'll start telling all our brides that not only will we transform them into (insert favorite supermodel name here), but we will also play God and perform meteorologic miracles on their wedding days.  Alison Berenback, our sweet and lovely bride, first arrived on Saturday saying she felt very nervous. I'd say this is very normal, given that she woke up realizing she was getting married. Not your average day. It didn't help that the weather looked a bit questionable (for New Leaf standards, of course). I kept promising Alison that Kelly Bates (for you Rhode Island-ahs out there) from Channel 10 SAID it was going to clear up.  Alison's wedding was at Linden Place, an outdoor garden venue here in Bristol.

To see Alison face light up when that sun peeked through our windows was priceless. Truly. Cheesy as it may sound, moments like this is why we love being part of a bride's special day.
And I think we caught the moment the sun came out...

The Hair Gods Cooperate for Melanie’s Wedding Day!

So we are now 4 for 4 with beautiful wedding weather! We are happy to report that our bride, Melanie Snow's name was not forecasting her wedding day (I know, it's a bad joke on Melanie's last name...I wonder how many times she heard THAT in her lifetime). Melanie's wedding was in Colt State Park, so hallelujah on the perfect weather!

Melanie was one of the calmest brides I have ever met. She came with her two sisters, who travelled far to be by her side on her day. One of her sisters was even a real wedding photographer...I tried to bribe her for some photos, or even some tips, but I think we need too much help.
